Beginner/Puppy Courses

Who are they for?
Our Beginner/Puppy Courses are for puppies and young friendly adolescent and/or rescue dogs.

What do we teach?
Our aim is to help the owners improve their dog’s behaviour and listening skills both at home and when out for a walk.

We aim to teach:
• How Dogs Learn
• How Dogs Communicate with us
• How to use Rewards correctly
• How to train nice lead walking
• How to train Fast Recalls
• How to Play and Stay in Control
• How to Groom & Handle your dog
• How to make all dog training Fun!

When and where?
From September to April the courses are held indoors on Thursday evenings from 7.00pm to 7.45pm at Chacombe Village Hall located on the edge of Chacombe Village, which is about 5 minutes from the M40 (junction 11). The full address is: Thorpe Road, Chacombe, Banbury, OX17 2JW.

How long and how much?
The average course lasts 7 weeks and costs £65, which includes membership of the club for the year. After the course you may wish to continue training your dog and book on one of our 6-week Refresher courses before registering for the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Course.

From May to July the sessions are held outdoors in Aynho village.

All courses start with an Introductory Talk on Zoom on the Tuesday prior to the start of each course.
