AGM October 2022
The AGM was held at Ryelands Field on Sunday 16th October 2022. We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny autumn day, which commenced with six different games set up for our members to enjoy. Everyone was able to have three attempts at each game, rosettes were awarded to Best Puppy, Best Good Citizen Dog and Best Sporting Dog in each section.
After the games we were treated to a really entertaining show, put on by The Dumb Belles, namely Sheila Smith and her Beagle Forti, Angela Howe with GSD Sabre, Kate Wilton with Springer Spaniel Finn and Marie Fitzgerald with Springer Spaniel Alfie. The girls and their dogs demonstrated a programme of exercises showing all the various things they had learned in their WT and UKDS classes, all of which were beautifully choreographed and set to music. It was so rewarding to see the different breeds working together and obviously enjoying themselves.
The formal part of the AGM took part in a specially erected marquee. After the officers’ reports, etc trophies were awarded as follows:
Most Improved Beginner - Tony Bird and Gwen
Most Improved Novice - Stepanka Bradford and Kaia
The Jo Jennings Award - Sue Coles and Phoebe
Most Improved in Working Trials - Sharon Lord and Echo
Best Achievement in Working Trials - John Simpson and Rafa
On behalf of the members, John Simpson proposed a vote of thanks to Carla and presented her with a bouquet of flowers.
After the formal business, members were able to socialise and enjoy a buffet lunch.
